Hair care /Rant

So what annoys me the most is where i work id say its 70% a student area and alot of our customers are student girls . The students arent my issue its just how naive some of them are when it comes to there hair.
Most commonly is some will come in and they have hair half way down there back but yet they NEED
atleast 4 or 5 inches off that  but yet they insist on only half an inch and the next time they have there hair cut will be in 6 months time and they think the bad bits will eventually dissapear ERM ... NO !
I know some people are scared of the hairdressers like i am of the dentist but its the same with everything if you dont look after your hair like you would look after your teeth its not going to be pretty.

If your trying to grow your hair i would recommend just literally an inch off every 8 weeks any more frequent then that your just cutting off what has grown. So when your hairdresser says you need to be coming every 4 weeks its a load of shit  rubbish . You only need to have your hair cut that often if you have ridiculously speedy growing hair and have a short cut and you want to maintain that length/ style .

shampooing and conditioning:

Ill start off by mentiong one of the most common bits of advice you always hear and my opinion :
"you shouldnt wash your hair everyday as it is bad for it "

In some cases this is true but if you have fine limp hair that literally gets greasy 24 hours or less after washing and your hair isnt classed as dry then shampoo that  hair as long as you treat your hair say every 2 weeks with a conditiong treatment for 15 mins while your in the shower it doesnt have to be an expensive one.
I use the aussie 3 minute miracle treatment which is around £4 but most of the time supermarkets or
boots/superdrug have the aussie range on offer for any 3 for £10 .

If you wash your hair every other day or less you need to be shampooing your hair twice and then conditioning every time u wash it with a conditioner to suit your hair type.

I have been loving the new L'oreal ever pure no sulphates range. Simply no sulphates which arent going to strip your hair of its condition and isnt going to strip the colour from your hair WIN WIN , when i use the shampoo even though its wet it still feels quite soft compared to other shampoos i wouldnt be able to get a comb through it and feels quite stripped but with this its far from that and when i use the treatment conditioner with it my hair feels clean and so soft and shiny i highly recommend these products.
there are also different types of this range  for different needs.

Go try them you wont be disappointed

My ever changing hair

So i thought i would do a post today showing pics of my ever changing hair colour because as a hairdresser i get so bored but dont like cutting my locks all that much . Seems abit hypocritical as all i do allday is tell people off for not looking after there hair :P

so firstly this was in 2006/7 on my first year of college training to be what  i am today .  i dont know who the hell i thought i was ....kill me now !

then this somewhat reddy brown colour as i was starting to get abit more brave in the colour department . me n my friend laura in aug 2009 for her birthday .

Then sept 2009 at manchester airport heading for zante for a girly holiday . Bless you lauren you look absolutely knackered here .

After an ex splitting up with me i decided to get in the gym lose abit of weight and go all out and colour my hair bright red ..perfect solution for mending a broken heart ...right??...yes i think so too.

As i was new to usin such bright red colours i  rang the whole salers up one day ordering my colours (i used to mix 2 different) they came and one was slightly different to which i didnt realise and i ended up with this ...

bit of a difference ... red to copper ...good job i loved it ! this was taken bank holiday weekend in aug 2010 a night out in blackpool with some friends .

back to red again after a while ... as you can see i get very bored n cant just leave it along . No explanation for why im so pale in this pic like a cullen .

so then i got sick of the red as EVERYONE EVERYWHERE seemed to be having red so i opted for this dark purple cherry colour loved this and kept with it for ages as it didnt seem to fade as much as the other colours   . pic taken in march 2011 for my friends 21st this was where i started my love for mac make up  ...but then after about 3 months u guessed it i got changed back to the red .

I am suprised my hair hasnt fallen out by now to be honest but i never had to bleach my hair as mine lifts really easily

A few more pics of my hair over the last couple of years

excuse the duck face *hands over eyes*slaps myself

may 4th my 23rd birthday night out and was in absolute agony with tooth ache u might be able to tell from me biting my cheek ..oops .

Last but not least i still have the copper base but recently added a few blonde highlights round the front to break it up abit which i easily not really   did myself half of the colours ended up either on my carpet or everywhere on me but my hair but got there in the end .
For the meantime im going to leave my hair alone i may get rid of the blonde bits but will no doubt always be one of 50 shades of copper .

skin care

So as a hairdresser working in a small salon with hairdryers on the go all day creating dry heat my skin can tend to suffer from this making it dry , dull , dehydrated , and one week out of the month spotty and if youre female we all know what that week is !

Since ive been a youtube lover for the past year watching videos from the likes of pixiwoo ,tanya burr , zoella , louise (sprinkle of glitter) , vivianna does make up and just recently starting to watch athriftymrs as shes also from manchester and now im constantly looking at beauty mouths blog aka caroline hirons , ive been picking up tips and alternitives of products that seem to be quite a cult product .

i must say since watching the pixiwoo collab video with caroline on youtube and following her blog ive realised ive been doing everything so badly and so wrong .
so now i only use my johnsons baby wipes if im desperate and changed my skin care hopefully for the better.

So the products ive been seeing everywhere is the liz earle range including the hot cloth cleanse n polish although ive never owned this product ive heard nothing but good things about it and it seems to be what everyone is talking about on youtube along with the emma hardie cleansing balm which i havent had the chance to try yet. BUT i was in asda earlier looking along the skin care aisle as you do ...
and these little beauties caught my eye

First off i just want to say each of these tubes are 50ml mini versions and u can buy all of these seperately  ranging from £7 each .
I got this as like a trial box and the price ... TEN POUNDS ! bloody bargain . what first attracted me to this was the hot cloth polish as ive been umming and ahhing about the liz earle version. So when i saw these minis in the box i snatched it up as it was the last one came home and was itching to get my make up off and try it .

Step 1 . melting cleansing gel - you use this and the polish on dry skin first impressions of the gel is quite thick and feels very moisturising you feel as though your using something from a spa . Rub in circular motions all over your face and neck wet hands and carry on rubbing and it turns into what feels like a milky liquid . Rinse off with warm running water and pat dry and my face never felt tight or dry or red baring in mind my face can be quite sensitive ...but it was fine.

Next step the hot cloth polish ...same as before using on dry skin after you have used the gel . rub into your face for a little while run the muslin cloth that is included in the pack and gently wipe away ,patting dry and then finishing with the beauty serum which fealt very nourishing and dried quickly and didnt leave any form of sticky residue.
Seperately i bought the night cream which looks like this

The colour is baby pink and is quite thick in texture and a little goes a long way and again isnt sticky .
All in all i think these are great cheaply priced little products . They are paraben free not tested against animals and contain no mineral oil .
The packaging says they are suitable for all skin types and i dont see why not so go check them out you can get them from asda and online hopefully you wont be dissapointed. I will do an update in a few weeks to say how im getting on with them :)
